Hiking: medium-difficulty routes

Mount Rite

Breathtaking and unforgottable views of the mountains of Val di Zoldo and Cadore - Ampezzano.

The fort on top was constructed for the Great War, along the defence border called "linea gialla" (the yellow line).

Nowadays, the built is a museum (Messner Mountain Museum), reachable from June to September also with a shuttle bus.

Road 479 is closed to car traffic but accessed by a shuttle service (from June to the end of September) from Passo Cibiana (1536 m) to the Mount Rite summit (2183 m; 2 hours walk). There is also a path from the pass to the summit: follow the road and abandon it at the first bend, continue straight (West) along the path 479 to Col d'Orlando (1853 m). Veering North, head up to the Forcella Deona (2053 m) were the path meets the road again climbing up to the fort (2183 m; 1,5 hours).
